Valentine’s Day DIY Decorate with Me

In this ‘Decorate with Me’ post, let’s celebrate Valentine’s Day 2024 with DIY decoration ideas! Get ready to craft as I show you how to create beautiful, budget-friendly decorations to spread love throughout your home. Our supplies were from Dollar Tree, Michael’s, and Home Depot. Let’s get started!

Valentine’s Day Cupcakes:

Supplies (Dollar Tree):

  • Small silver wire mesh for paper clips
  • Pink cardstock
  • Glue gun and glue sticks
  • White piping mesh
  • Heart-shaped sticks
  • Confetti (optional)

How To:

  1. Take your pink cardstock and cut 8″ long strips to place around the mesh. This will be the cupcake holder. You will crinkle the paper in a zig zag shape.
  2. Next, take your glue gun and glue the cardstock to the wire mesh.
  3. Create a frosting-like effect with white piping mesh, and make several circle discs, creating a pyramid. You layer each one on top of the other in stacks of big, medium, and trim. 
  4. Add the heart-shaped sticks to the top in the middle.
  5. Optionally, sprinkle confetti for an added festive touch.

Valentine Wreath:

Supplies (Dollar Tree):

  • Heart wire wreath
  • 2 sets of pink garland
  • 2 sets of decorative mesh in pink and hot pink
  • Glue gun & sticks

How To:

  1. Transform a heart wire wreath decorative mesh you will lupe into a knot circling the wreath.
  2. You will hot glue the garland, wrap it around the start point, and glue the end to the wreath.
  3. Secure everything in place with a glue gun, and hang it on your home, business door, or wall for Valentine’s Day cheer.

Valentine Trees

Supplies:

  • 4 Valentine Trees
  • clear zip ties
  • Heart ornaments
  • Wooden hearts ornaments
  • Floral foam
  • Pink tin
  • Decorative shreds

How To:

  1. Zip-tie the 4 Valentine’s Trees by layering the branches to one side.
  2. Take floral foam and cut it to pink tin size to fit in. 
  3. Take your tree and place it inside the floral foam inside the tin.
  4. Place the decorative shreds inside the pink tin to hide the base. 
  5. Decorate them with the ornaments.

Valentine Heart Cookies:

Supplies:

  • Wooden hearts
  • Pink and white paint
  • Heart-shaped stickers (“Adore” and “Kiss Me”)
  • Lightweight spackle (Home Depot)
  • Piping bag and Tip set (Michael’s)
  • Paint Pink & White

How To:

  1. Paint wooden hearts in pink and white. Let it dry. 
  2. Add heart-shaped stickers with sweet messages.
  3. Use lightweight spackle mixed with paint to pipe decorative edges on each heart.
  4. Let them dry overnight for adorable Valentine’s Day Heart Cookies.
